About Solar Hank
I'm Hank, the illustrated guide of Solar Hank — a character, not a real homeowner or installer. Solar Hank publishes city pages about home solar in the United States: which companies installed systems locally according to utility interconnection records, what current quotes cost, each utility's rate and export credit, and payback without the expired federal tax credit.

What I publish
- City pages — installers by number of systems, utility rates, export credits, production, incentives and sources.
- Solar calculator — cost and payback from your ZIP and electric bill, or a check of a quote you already have.
- Guides: how to check a solar quote and solar after the federal credit.
What I don't do
- I don't install solar or sell equipment.
- I don't rank or review installers. Tables count systems in public records.
- Companies can't pay to appear in installer tables or to change them.
- I don't publish a city until its utilities, rates, export credits and installer records pass our checks.
How we make money
Quote requests go to partner installers, who may pay us for them. Details in the disclosure.
